Yesterday completed the 30 day Power Couple for January. I have to say that the experience was mostly a learning curve. I would admit that relinquishing this phantom control was not the issue as much as it was my willing to understand my ideas are not the only ones that were "good." I want to thank my husband fpr his willingness to accept this challenge with me and work towards being more helpful in areas that I assigned to myself for whatever reason! I feel my husband is a great provider, and as far as I am concerned that is all that he should do for me and now Arissa. He doesn't indlge much with finances, day to day decision making around the home and absolutely hands off on things like what to do today or next week. Well we have come to find out he is a better bargain shopper than I would ever be, he has better taste than I do with interior decorating and guess what else? Not so bad in the finance department since he is frugal. Im taking on the challange for February!
I'm so excited you accepted the challenge! I'm even more excited that you have decided to LOVE WITH PURPOSE. Realizing that love isn't enough is part of building a solid foundation. Purpose and common vision is what will help you both understand the season that you're in. Relationships have seasons. Some seasons are full of great weather and sunshine. Others are full of storms and blizzards. We must accept changes especially the changes that's out of our control. You must be willing to GO WITH THE FLOW AND BEND WITH THE WIND BUT DON'T BEND TO MUCH THAT YOU BREAK. Sacrifice will build character and resilience. I can't wait to read more on your progress. We hope to see you at The Ulitmate Date Night V-Day Edition on 2/11/17.
Well day to is day one for me in starting to reach out to other couples who are committed to the process as well as the journey of marriage. Who have seen there fair share of marital hardships yet continue to choose to love. I have always been the party in previous relationships that called it quits although, this time around I want to love on purpose not simply because of how I feel.
You missed out on Walmart!!!! Oh no! 😂 Teamwork! Yes. Love that he saved some money. Demetrius (my husband) is also a smart shopper. He san save some money. He has the patience. I'm more of an in and out type. I also appreciate when he goes for me. Enjoy it!!!
I wouldn't! We go food shopping together. Since it was bad out and the baby and this and that, I was forced to accept the help. Turned out he spent a lot less money and got everything on the list. He even stopped at Walmart for me (PAINFUL SINCE I DIDNT GO)....... Just to reciprocate the favor, I am going to take the jeep to get serviced by my job so he doesn't have to wake up early on the weekend. #Teamwork
Today my husband has volunteered to go out and run errands since it's snowing here. I would have freaked out about the food shopping but totally in for the challenge. It feels different but good. #day7#progress

Prior to the challenge how would you have handled this with Henry?
